Fire Up, Buttercup!
Welcome to the wild world of family and children's portrait photography at Faux-Toes {pronounced foh-tohs} where Kristen B. Roedner, pictured left, helps families (spitting images of one another) recognize the beauty before them (without the mess), to give them glimpses into the glorious future and to spread absolute joy. Life is too short, afterall!

Here as in life, anything can happen and that's why the flying pig is the mascot. Faux-Toes is headquartered in Lakeway, Texas some 20 beautiful miles due west of Keep Austin Weird. Call (512) 466-5577 or email kristen@faux-toes.com for more information about getting your "pitcher" took. Thanks for visiting and we hope to hear from you soon!
Armed with camera in hand, Kristen captures that which is unique and precious about your loved ones, whether that be your dog or cat, your first child or your eleventh.

Kristen grew up in the quaint town of Liberty, Texas where her grandfather dubbed her "the one and only" and in high school she became the first ever furry-costumed panther named Tirips (that's spirit spelled backwards). Later she followed in family footsteps and studied business and marketing at Baylor University. Upon graduation, Kristen set off on her life's grand adventure in Nashville, Tennessee. One exciting plot twist leads to another over the next five years and then this native Texan packed up everything she owned to live next to the cutest boy she'd ever met who happened to live in Yankee-town: Boston, Massachusetts.

Six months later, they married in Nashville and added puppies to their family. Soon thereafter Kristen retired from software marketing and began her passionate work for capturing children and delighting their parents with amazing portraits - during her several years at a nationwide portrait studio. In 2003, Kristen was ranked seventh amongst the thousands of photographers working for that organization. In 2004 - 2005, Kristen studied full time at the New England School of Photography (NESOP).

In late 2005, Kristen, the cutest sparkiest boy she'd ever met and two tail-less pups high-tailed it to Austin, Texas so that their beloved child would be native to the Lone Star State. Rosa Jane, named after two amazing women who are also a reminder of how very short life is, has been an unrelenting source of inspiration and model for living life BIG, out loud and full of pure joy. The Roedners share their home with a prankster blue-eyed dog named, Hank, and they live for the moments when Kristen's grown-up stepdaughter, Sara - a.k.a The Pixie, visits from Chicago.

This is us with a stand in photo of the Pixie who was out of town during the photo session:

Kristen relishes capturing those fleeting moments of childhood, the bonds between family members (pets included), and love sparks amongst couples on locations near and far.

Without a doubt, Kristen would love to hear from you!  Please contact her about preserving that which is important to you.

Session fees start at $125 (at the home studio) and clients typically invest between $600 - $2200. Some clients invest more and some less.

Faux-Toes is a proud member of Professional Photographers of America (PPA).
