Just before we left, my friend Tracey had requested a photo session. And since it had been a couple of years since I saw them last, I was super happy to catch up with them on a lovely Sunday evening.

Here's one of my favorite images of the All-American family photographed in the Charlestown Navy Yard. Boston/Charlestown is a great place to visit and I would highly recommend a springtime trip! It was super romantic with blue skies and everything in bloom. Getcha some if you can!

We're quickly approaching our five year Texas anniversary. And while there's a lot that we have done, most of it has been colored the rainbow of fruit flavors of domestic life, buying and decorating the home we hope to live in forever, bringing home the loveliest child in the world and feeding her and watching her grow. I have been so very fortunate to have been able to stay home with my sidekick. It's only now that we're on the verge of big change that I'm able to see clearly all that has transpired.

She's officially a big kid now and heading to school like one. I'm so excited about the opportunities for her, for the things she'll learn and the people she'll meet and inspire. She's infectious like that and I've always recognized the importance of sharing her with the world, but I've been greedy, too and recognized our limits.

In some ways, I'm feeling enormous freedom in the new schedule of events. In fact, I feel kinda like I just moved to Austin for real and am coming out of my kid-centric scheduled cave-dwelling. I'm excited to step out and see what I can see.
